Rivergum Grandparents as Carers group
We host this group for grandparents and other people who have the fulltime responsibilities of caring for children for whom they are not birthparents. This group meets on Fridays at 10.30am during school term.
The members of our confidential and caring group encourage one another in the often daunting position they find themselves in.
They provide information, support, unconditional friendship, understanding and help wherever possible to each other.
Special outings are organised where the children also get to know one another and find friends who have similar experiences.
Through our contact with other grandparent groups we can access support services, participate in workshops and social activities and even attend a camp for a much needed break.

A Rivergum camera club has been meeting on the last Friday evening of each month. There are opportunities for those who love photography to share their photographs and learn more about techniques for both digital and film cameras. This group is in recess during 2011.
